CandidGO

FAQ

What is CandidGO?

CandidGO is a free iOS app for selling photos on the spot. Photograph someone at a tourist landmark, on the street, or at a public event — then hand them a card with a 4-letter code like candidgo.com/ABCD. They visit the link, see their photo, and pay you directly.

No email exchange, no social media, no contact info needed. Available in 37 countries.

How is CandidGO different from stock photo sites like Shutterstock or Foap?

Stock photo platforms are upload-and-wait marketplaces — you upload photos and hope strangers find and buy them. CandidGO is the opposite: you sell directly to the person you just photographed, on the spot. Hand them a card, they pay to get the unwatermarked photo.

Can I make money selling photos to tourists?

Yes — tourist spots are one of the best use cases for CandidGO. Photograph visitors at landmarks, viewpoints, or busy streets, then hand them a card with a short link.

They see a watermarked preview and can pay to get the full photo — even after they've left. Buyers pay what feels fair, and you get paid directly to your bank. No haggling on the spot, no awkward phone exchange.

Is it legal to photograph and sell photos of strangers on the street?

In most countries, photographing people in public spaces is legal. However, laws vary by country and context. Selling photos of people generally requires that the photo was taken in a public place where there is no expectation of privacy.

Always be respectful — if someone doesn't want their photo taken, don't take it. CandidGO is designed around consent: the person chooses whether to buy the photo.

What cameras work with CandidGO?

Your iPhone camera works out of the box. CandidGO also supports Sony, Canon, Nikon, and Fujifilm cameras for USB and Wi-Fi workflows.

See the full compatible camera list for model-by-model detail and support labels.

How much can I earn selling photos on the spot?

It depends on your location, volume, and what people choose to pay. Many paid photos land around $3 to $20. At a busy tourist spot, you could photograph dozens of people per day.

CandidGO is free to use with no subscription or upfront costs.

How do I hand out photos?

Write the 4-letter code on a card and hand it to them. They can scan the QR code or visit the URL to see their photo.

No card? Just write candidgo.com/ABCD on anything.
